Background of State-Owned Improved Seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation

State-Owned Improved Seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation has been established in 1976 with an initial capital of 17.6 million dollar 14  million dollar was funded by the Asian Development Bank and 3.6 million dollar from the Government’s development budget.


Based on government policy and centralized government economic system in 1985 the corporation’s identity changed to Improve seeds Enterprise. In 1988 the State Farms Directorate of Agriculture irrigation and livestock Ministry joined with Improved seeds Enterprise.


Finally with the implementation of State-Owned Corporations law on 06/Nov/2018 journal (1322) the Improved seeds Enterprise, identity changed to State-Owned Improved Seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation. Statue of SOISC has been published on 30/Dec/2020 journal (2016). State-Owned Improved Seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation headquarter is located at Badam bagh, 17th district of Kabul, Afghanistan. It has Branches in Balkh, Herat, Kandahar, Helmand, Nangarhar, Baghlan, Kundoz, Parwan and Ghazni province.

Produce wheat’s foundation seeds, certified seeds and other crops to raise its yield in country based on need.


Mission


State-Owned Improved Seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation operates to achieve the following objectives:


1- Develop production and multiplication of improved seeds and other agricultural services industry bases on market demand.


2- Produce, multiply and distribute improved seeds, improved ornamental seedlings and preserve its Germ plasm based on principle of efficiency, quality and competition.


3- Provide the way of participation in implementing national development Goals, economic growth, social extension and job creation in improved seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation.


4- Provide the way for private investment in State-Owned Improved Seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation.


5- Gain profit and strengthen financial base of State-Owned Improved Seeds & Agricultural Services Corporation.
